Anna Dawson CDG

Anna is a Casting Director working across Film, Television, Theatre, animation and commercials.

She works from Edinburgh & London both as an independent Casting Director and as Casting Director with Simone Pereira Hind. 

Anna began her journey into casting in 2012 working for some of the biggest Casting Directors in the UK including Marilyn Johnson, Jina Jay and Suzanne Smith, where she began to work on hit series Outlander (STARZ). 

Life lead her to Scotland where she started working with Simone and continued to work in the casting dept of Outlander for all 8 seasons.

Over a decade later and she is very proud to continue to work from Scotland and is particularly passionate  about nurturing Scottish/Scotland based voices, productions, stories and talent. 

Anna's upcoming projects include feature films Midwinter Break for Film 4/Focus starring Lesley Manville & Ciaran Hinds, Lesley Paterson's Hidden and Sarah Grant's Fight Me for Blazing Griffin. Further projects include Keli for The National Theatre of Scotland, How To Fight Loneliness for The Park Theatre (Co-Cast with Amy Blair) and three upcoming television series co-cast with Simone yet to be announced. 

In 2021 Anna co-created and developed a tool with Tagmin to ensure all actors get an answer on auditions in support of the equity Yes/No campaign.

Anna is a proud member of BAFTA and the Casting Directors Guild.

When not working you'll find her somewhere near the sea or probably watching Fawlty Towers.
